Gnaanananda Mayam
Shreya, Shankin, Harshitha,Agneesh,Vijaya, Kausthubh (Friday, 11/12/2010 @ 06.00PM)
Children recited the three previous shlokas continuously for the first 15 minutes. Then they learnt a new shlokha - Sri Hayagreeva Stotram (Vishnu with a horse face). He is the ultimate authority of education. It is believed that children praying Sri hayagreeva with this sthothram are blessed by Him with strong education.

Gnaana nanda mayam devam, nirmala spatika hrudim
Aadharam sarva vidhyaanaam, hayagreevam upaasmahe !
Please ask the children to practice these 4 shlokas so far on a daily basis.

Words of Wisdom | Desika Shlokha
Children recited individually the previous two slokas - Guru brahma & Shuklam bharadharam. Please let them continue to practice daily in the morning.
Children learnt about the following Words of Wisdom:
* Maathru Devo Bhava - Respect Mother as god.
* Pithru Devo Bhava - Respect Father as god
* Achaarya Devo Bhavo - Respect Teacher as god
* Athithi Devo Bhava - Respect guests as god
They are supposed to practice saying the above words of wisdom at home.
Children learnt about the Desika Stotram:
Sriman Venkata Naatharyaha Kavithaarkika kesari
Vedantha aacharya variyome Sannidhaththaam Sadha hrudhi !
Please ask the child to recite the above shlokha along with the previous shlokhas *aloud, daily*.

A 'Guru' is one who removes darkness by giving knowledge. To that end, mom and dad were the first gurus to any child as they teach a child the first lessons. Respecting a guru is important and it starts with respecting mom & dad first.
Kids were told about a story of Fat cat versus small mouse and how the small mouse, by listening to a guru's advice was able to overcome the cat's bullying.

Guru Brahma; Guru Vishnu;
Guru Devo Maheshwara !
Guru Saakshath Para brahma
